Phuket – there has never been a better time to visit for an expat

I flew South this week to Phuket and whilst it was sad to see it suffering there has never been a better time for an expat to visit.

The hotels are doing some amazing deals for those that want to venture out. The beaches are deserted and you can enjoy the natural beauty of the island and its stunning views without the crowds of tour groups. The roads were relatively quiet so you could keep moving and there are no tour busses to get stuck behind.
I stayed at The Intercontinental Phuket at Kamala Beach which is a stunning hotel offering refined luxury. But for a few instamgrammers taking selfies, with no one else in the shot, the hotel is offering beachside executive rooms at around the same price a mid market hotel with no view offers in high season.
The staff are attentive and pleased to welcome guests back to their hotel. The facilities were first class, as you would expect from IHG’s leading brand. I dined at Jaras overlooking the spectacular swimming pool in the morning. Spent the day out exploring the island sadly in meetings instead of sightseeing where the island has some stunning views, beaches, opportunities.
