Morrissey To Perform in Bangkok

Legendary artist Morrissey is coming to Thailand as part of his latest world tour. The show takes place on the 18th of November at Samyan Mitrtown. It is part of the Morrissey: 40 Years of Morrissey tour that takes the artist to several Asian nations, including Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Reached Cult Status With His Band The Smiths

Morrissey, who was born in Davyhulme, England, rose to prominence in the 80s with the Manchester band The Smiths. Their debut album, The Smiths, reached mainstream popularity in England and got a gold record. The following 3 albums were also hugely popular in the United Kingdom and have reached cult status throughout the years. The band also gained some popularity in the USA, being certified gold in the US with the albums Strangeways, Here We Come and The Queen Is Dead. Some of the most recognizable songs from Morrisseys era in The Smiths include Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now, How Soon Is Now, and There Is a Light That Never Goes Out. These are songs that we are definitely waiting to hear at the Bangkok show.

Solo Since 1988

The Smiths disbanded in 1988 after the release of Strangeways, Here We Come. He then ventured out on a solo career which has included several gold and platinum records. This show in Bangkok will be the first time ever that Morrissey has performed in Thailand. He was scheduled to play in Thailand in 2016 but the show was canceled because of the passing of King Rama IX.
