My car from AVIS Chiang Mai

Travelling alone with a disability – AVIS Chiang Mai

I just want to thank the AVIS Chiang Mai team for looking after me on Friday 14th April when I was not very well and returned their car to the airport.

I arrived in a bit of a disheveled state at the airport and was unable to refill the car with diesel, empty the car of my belongings, and or get to my flight to Hua Hin. I am registered disabled and have spina bifida occulta. I have had 5 serious spinal operations in my 66 years to date as an ex-police officer from the UK.

The midday heat was ruthless. I was afraid the chronic pain I suffered got the better of me and all I could do was to nurse the big car back to the station at Chiang Mai Airport. They eventually managed my account, got me a wheelchair, and wheeled me into the airport delivering me to Air Asia staff who took over from there.

I always hire an AVIS car against a local provider as I know that they will take care of me whatever the problem.

The car from AVIS Chiang Mai was faultless and enabled me to spend 4 days with good friends in Mae Rim. Travel the area visiting many friends and ascend Doi Suthep and the hill tribe villages above.

Air Asia looked after me well in transit and I managed to get a friend to collect me at Hua Hin airport and get me home.

I am going to the hospital to see my surgeon in Bangkok tomorrow…
