The Samui Summer Jazz Festival

In the first week of May I attended the above event on the beautiful island of Samui.

5 concerts at 5 different venues where diners were spoilt with some excellent food and first class live entertainment.

Organised by SKAL Samui – the largest of Thailand’s six regional groups (SKAL is the hotel industry’s organisation promoting global tourism and friendship, uniting all sectors of the tourist industry.) it brought international musicians and singers to Samui to entertain guests.

The weather was extremely humid so in honesty I spent most of the time seeking a cool corner but the female singers and the musicians serenaded the audience with some cracking music. Old favourites and an extensive range of easy listening jazz. How they managed it in the oppressive heat beats me especially as they were dressed in suits for some of the concerts.

I think that the attached pictures explain the event far better than I can with words…
