Melbourne Cup Fundraiser at Casa Boho, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort – PHBGTU

For this Melbourne Sheila, there is no better way to support one of my favourite Thailand charities, Phuket Has Been Good To Us (PHBGTU), than to gather with friends from across the Island and watch the race that stops our Aussie nation, the Melbourne Cup 2023.

This fabulous fun fundraiser was held at the funky and bohemian Casa Boho at the Hyatt Regency Kamala. With the most incredible panoramic views stretching long and wide across Kamala Bay, we enjoyed free-flow bubbles, wine, beer, and brunch.

With obligatory hats, Phuket Islanders and gathered guests took the opportunity to frock and suit up for a chance to be a winner. With prizes awarded for Best Hat, Best Dressed Lady, Couple, and Best Suited, the judges had some hard decisions to make. It was smiles all around as the winners received gift certificates for Hyatt Regency F & B & Spa, Baan Rim Pa restaurant and a Sunset Cruise on board a La Moet.

A live auction supported by the ever-generous 5 Star Marine, and supporters from InterContinental Maldives and MnK Resorts & Hospitality was just the final boost needed to get the fundraising across the finishing line Without A Fight.

And yes, we did stop proceedings to see Without a Fight, win the 2023 Melbourne Cup on one of the many television screens around.

Congratulations to all involved with making this such a lovely party with a purpose. With incredible support from not only those present but also the most generous silent auction donations.

Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation (PHBGTU) were delighted to announce the brunch raised 440,000B which will pay for a qualified, fluent English-speaking teacher for a year.
