U Samui Bangrak Ko Samui
On the North East coast of Ko Samui about 3kms from the international airport is the delightful laid back resort of Bangrak, where time seems to have slowed down…
I was dropped off at this unassuming street frontage but once you enter, the magic begins. The staff welcomed me enthusiastically and checked me in efficiently.
I walked through the resort to the beachfront about 150/200m, through the all day swimming pool restaurant, past the wonderful swimming pool and I wanted to take my shoes off as the cream sandstone shouted out for bare feet to caress.
The front desk staff said that my room was on the fourth floor of what seems a utilitarian corridors and lift but once they opened the door to my suite – wow!
Bangrak bay welcomed me in all its beauty through the floor to ceiling windows. I was a bit stunned by the beauty of the room, its facilities, but especially the view.
I had a king sized bed with Welcome to U Samui in some flowers and reeds on the crisp white sheeted bed which I thought was a nice touch. The kitchen area was just to my right. The desk and wardrobes opposite it and at the end to the right.
On the other side was a lovely bathroom with wide wooden shutters so that you could enjoy the panoramic views as you were in the bathroom. Rain shower, hand shower, and WC all in glass cubicles with fluffy white towels.
Beyond the glass patio doors there was a terrace with two chairs and a coffee table and an outdoor tub with towel rack and all of the necessary touches. Sadly I was on my own otherwise it would certainly have been used.
The food was excellent both in the all day restaurant, breakfast buffet and the staff were well motivated and polite.
