Dusit Thani Hotel

Beyond Boundaries

The Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok has introduced an all day brunch menu every Saturday and Sunday from 11.30am – 5pm overlooking their waterfall and gardens.

I was lucky enough to be a guest on Sunday and started the day with a glass of Tattinger Champagne. There are various menus to choose from but being of expensive tastes and as I was celebrating my birthday I chose the free flow Taittinger, soft drinks, chilled juices, beers and wines at 4,900B per head.

There was a wonderful array of Alaskan crab, lobster, fresh oysters and sushi which would have filled up most diners on its own! But I barely ventured on. The staff then served us with the signature dish of stone cooked salmon steaming and cooking itself on the table under individual glass domes.

Swiftly followed by pan fried New Zealand rack of lamb with mustard slides. I love quality lamb and you do not get it very much in Bangkok. Followed by snow fish that melted in the mouth. There were many main dishes which were cooked and bought to the table by the waiting staff as and when requested. Pan fried duck’s liver, US Rib eye, deep fried river prawn, duck in red curry, slow cooked beef short ribs in green curry and oven baked lobster Thermidor.

The desserts and cheeseboard finished off an excellent lunch whether you are on business or at leisure with family and friends. I shall definitely return …

No dinner for me tonight!
