Bang on the Mark in Bangkok

Stand up Asia and Magic Rock start their comedy season in Thailand with not just one big Bangkok Bang, but with three of them! British comedian Shazia Mirza is the headliner, ably supported by another Brit, Trevor Lock, and Irish comic Aidan Killian.

Shazia comes from Birmingham, England, and carries on the great tradition of cutting edge comedy from that city (Jasper Carrott, Frank Skinner, Bill Oddie, Joe Lycett). Shazia is a TV star, a radio performer, and a newspaper columnist. She has performed at festivals around the world, including at Glastonbury and Edinburgh, where she went down a storm.

Trevor Lock is from Lincolnshire, UK, has toured the UK supporting both Stewart Lee and Russell Brand and has also made appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe. He also presents a live comedy night ‘Trevor Lock’s Philosophy Society’ at the Ku Bar in Lisle Street near Leicester Square. Bangkok is lucky to be the choice of abode for Irish investment banker turned professional comedian Aidan Killian, and some of the city’s expat community will already be aware of him. He is fresh back from a world tour that saw him travel around the globe from Ireland and the UK, to Australia on the other side of the world, China, and many cities in between.

Aidan is a passionate, political comedian, bold enough to tackle subjects that others do not dare to mention but with enough charm and humour to get away with it. Stand up Asia has set the bar high for the rest of the the year. You really don’t want to miss this show… you will be kicking yourself with frustration as your friends tell you the following day that they could hardly down their pint of Magners due to their non-stop laughter. Get your tickets now before they sell out!
