Beyond The Air We Breathe: Addressing Climate Change Photography Exhibition

Organised by the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand (RPST), Lucie Foundation  and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre 28 June – 2 September 2018  Main Gallery, 9th FloorBeyond the Air We Breathe Exhibition showcases beauty from disasters and depicts the current climate change through photographs.

The highlights of this exhibition are not only the great photographs but also the amazing stories behind them. All the photographers dedicated their time and passion to capture climate change situations around the world through their lens. Apart from the exhibition, there will also be various talks and film screenings about climate change.

Organised by Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and PhotoBangkok 5 July – 9 September 2018PhotoBangkok 2018 is an international photography festival organised by Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) and PhotoBangkok in collaboration with cultural organizations and gallery partners.

PhotoBangkok 2018 focuses on exhibiting  contemporary Asian and Thai photography and on giving a platform to emerging artists. The main exhibitions are held in the main galleries on the 7th and 8th floors of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre while other exhibitions and activities are in more  than 20 art galleries throughout Bangkok.

From a still and lifeless medium, photography, for the first time, has been transformed into a flexible medium popularised and mobilized to every corner of the world.

Post – Repost – Share is a Southeast Asia photography exhibition as part of PhotoBangkok 2018. The exhibition invites viewers to relate various social contexts of Southeast Asia together.

Thai New Wave Photography Exhibition is a contemporary photography exhibition by upcoming Thai photographers. As part of Photo Bangkok 2018, this exhibition is curated by two curators and is divided into two sections: Multiple Planes and Perspectives. Both exhibitions present contemporary photographs that reflect our society today. With diverse formats and different perspectives outside the norm, this exhibition serves as an open space for creativity and inspiration for young artists.

EARLY YEARS PROJECT #3 An Incubating Project for Young Artists

The Exhibition Department of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) presents the Early Years Project – An Incubating Project for Young Artists to take solid steps in producing creative works and establish a healthy and sustainable development.

This year, the Early Years Project #3 continues its mission and calls for a new batch of submissions from next-generation artists during 16 June – 22 July 2018. Seven qualified artists will be selected to join the Project during 7 August – 25 November 2018, When they will present their works and details of their respective creative processes that show the development of such works on the 9th Floor of BACC, and also take part in workshops, seminars, or other special activities of the project held during said period.

Following the project’s conclusion, the panel of judges will select outstanding works from the artists’ presentations and projects as the winner of Mobility Funding and Artist Residency scholarship.
