Mövenpick Siam Hotel Na Jomtien Pattaya
Spent the weekend in the family friendly Movenpick Siam Hotel in Na Jomtien located on the main Sukhumvit Road from Pattaya to Sattahip.
The hotel stands proudly on the waterfront next door to Ocean Marina and as soon as you turn off the main road and go through the security barrier the stress subsides.
You drive up a steep inclines to arrive at the lobby where porters greet you and take your luggage. The large reception is manned by many staff and so your check in procedure is swift and efficient.
I was allocated my room on the 11th out of 30 something floors and was delivered to the lift with my luggage following. Swiss style efficiency and hospitality with the common areas stylishly decorated. My room was generously proportioned and elegantly furnished with lots of wood, clean crisp white sheets on the large king sized bed, a comfortable lounge and desk for relaxing or working led onto a wide but safe balcony to watch the sunset. The bathroom was tastefully equipped and came with a walk in shower, matching sinks and WC unit. Good, clean bathrooms are always important to me when staying away from home.
There was a dressing area with safe, dressing gowns and plenty of storage space.
I unpacked changed and went down to the large swimming pool on the ground floor which is a key feature to the hotel and has slides for the children, a kiddies pool with toys, balls and floats and the water was clean and welcoming. I say clean as one morning I went down before 7am and there was a team of 5/6 young men scrubbing the water level all round to remove any trace of oils on the waterline, with hoovers sweeping the bottom. A thorough job which most guests probably did not see.
The beachfront was well equipped with kayaks, floats, towels and staffed all day with both security to ensure our welfare and attendants to ensure safety.
The restaurant staff were welcoming and attentive and the food being a Movenpick Hotel was first class in terms of variety, selection, presentation and taste.
All in all a very pleasant weekend – thank you Movenpick.
