Chatrium Grand

I had the opportunity to stay in a brand new hotel on the Bangkok scene last night that I am sure will be highly successful. The Chatrium Grand at Siam.

As you would expect from a new hotel, they opened in November 2022, everything is fresh, pure, innocent and squeaky clean. I was dropped off by my driver in the covered walkway between the two hotels. I was running late for my appointment so strode in purposefully. Check in was an efficient affair and the staff expedited it swiftly.

I was given a one bedroom suite on the 25th floor. The receptionist escorted me to the room which was a nice touch. She talked me through the amenities, facilities and explained the digital butler by my bedside. The large bedroom had floor to ceiling windows looking out over Bangkok Siam. The curtains, chaise lounge, table and chairs, flat screen TV on the wall all looked typically Chatrium, functional, stylish nothing flashy or extravagant.

Obviously designers have played a vital role in equipping the room, carpets, common areas, lifts, corridors, all beautifully finished in high class materials ‘simply stylish’.

My bedroom had a glass wall looking into the bathroom and a large modern white tub dominated the view but when you walked in it was lost back into the room because of the glass wall. Separate large cubicles for WC unit and power shower. Two sinks all shiny and marble, expensively appointed. I liked the shower, even though I was surprised not to see a rain shower, the large hand shower could be adjusted high up on the slider so it made it a rain shower. The accessories from Panpuri unrivalled luxury nothing trashy. Every detail has been considered.

The huge bed was like sleeping on air. White crisp sheets and duck down feather pillows cosseted my head last night I certainly slept well. I peeled back the bedsheet to see what was underneath it was a thickly quilted mattress cover, must get one of those at home…

Chatrium Grand stylish, timeless luxury…
