Andrea Juan

Argentina-Antarctica-Bangkok—all good things seem to be three!

Right now, the Argentinian artist ANDREA JUAN, is showing her first solo show/exhibition “ANTARCTICA Project” in Bangkok at BACC, upon the invitation of Argentina’s ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Ms. Alicia Sonschein.

Andrea explains that this art project is based on research on the impact of climate change. She is addressing the consequences of receding glaciers and the loss of the Antarctic ice, the disappearing of ice shelf, the release into the atmosphere of methane gas (greenhouse effect), and other climatic impacts that increase the atmospheric and ocean temperatures cause by global warming.

Andrea has visited Antarctica several times, and she openly declares that it has been very emotional and a remarkable experience. She discovered new colors and an unimaginable brightness. She has been working under extreme weather conditions and she’s been alone in this deserted space

Her colorful photography is impressive.  The exhibition at BACC is comprised of SOLAR STORM Series, an artwork developed in 2014.
