Christine BLOM, founder of Bulle d’Art, sculptor, art teacher and curator

I started Sculpture in 2006 in Belgium and it was the beginning of something very important in my life. I stayed there for 2 years taking classes at Annabelle Hyvrier’s studio. When I moved to Lisbon, Portugal in 2008, it was impossible to find sculpture classes so I discovered the art of ceramics. For 6 years, I’ve learnt different techniques and explored glazing. In parallel, I studied at the Fine Art University of Lisbon and start to mix sculpture and ceramic techniques on my own creations. I start to exhibit my pieces and start to organise exhibitions also for others.

In 2013, I moved back to Paris and worked at the Rrose Selavy studio for one year.

Based in Hong Kong, I worked at the Visual Arts Centre as a member of the ceramics studio and as a teacher. I curated 2 exhibitions there in 2017 and 2018.

I participated three times at the French May festival (2016 and 2017 and 2019) as associated projects with collective exhibitions that I curated.

I opened my Artstudio, Bulle d’Art, in 2018, in HK. I started teaching regularly to kids and adults without forgetting my own artwork.

Play with clay, give shape, use your imagination and improve your creativity, learning techniques and tricks about clay, glazing, firing, colours, textures……very large and promising new world for creation and personal knowledge.

I like tall figures, textures, colours and special effects……all is about EMOTIONS. My art pieces are present in Carre d’Artistes gallery in HK.

After 7 years in HK, I just arrived in Bangkok and started my Bulle d’Art Artstudio here, close to On Nut BTS in the Sukhumvit area.

I organise regular weekly classes for adults, workshops for kids and teens during holidays and week-ends, team buildings and birthdays.

What I want to offer to people is an experience of sharing a moment, do something on your own that you are proud of, get a moment for yourself and use your talent. Art is not optional. Please come and have a try. You would love it and live in a bubble of relaxation/meditation for 3 hours.

And of course, I would like to find my way in this art and design scene with my own work. Try new ways to express what I want to talk about, with new materials and take a chance with the new opportunities that Thailand has to offer like bronze, brass, working with fantastic ceramics factory, have collaborative work with other artists…..

During all those years of moving from places to places, in very different countries, I had to express all those feelings of fear, anxiety, loneliness, joy, wonder, emotions, gratitude, knowledge, friendship, challenges, success, collaboration…… I found clay and ceramics to do so… That’s what you find in my pieces. Humans are not perfect but they are alive with contradictions, they are not smooth they are “dented”, they are shaken but they are standing…… That’s life.

Artists in Thailand are very talented and have a lot of potential. The technical level is very good. It would be fantastic to show their work abroad. The pandemic had a lot of impact on the everyday life on everyone and also for artists. It pushed them to show their work on social media but give them hard time being exhibited.

I have this project of developing an online gallery mainly between Europe and Asia to mix the 2 art worlds and to show to people all this beauty and creativity.
