56th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar 2023 is scheduled from 25th – 28th February 2023 at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon
Mark your shopping calendar as the annual charity shopping fair “56th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar” is approaching.
This fund raising event is organised by the Thai Red Cross Society in close cooperation with spouses of diplomats and their embassies based in Thailand. On offer are signature items and quality products from around the world and a plethora of goods at unbeatable prices. Discover a wide selection of food, consumer goods, clothing, accessories, home furnishings, and much more.
The 2023 edition is a global collaboration of over 50 countries, coming together under the concept of “Shop & Share”. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the operations of the Thai Red Cross Society. The event will take place between 25th – 28th February 2023, at the Royal Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon between 10am to 8pm, online purchase is also available at www.dpcredcrossbazaar.com
 
On this auspicious occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, will graciously preside over the opening ceremony on 25th February 2023, at 8:30am.
 
On 13th February 2023, a press conference was held to announce the upcoming Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar 2023. Director of the Fundraising Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS) Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh, Chairperson of the Diplomatic Participant’s Committee and Ambassador’s spouse of Malaysia Madame Datin Catherina Christine Cherrian as well as Raffle Director and Spouse of the Ambassador of Republic of Korea Madam Suh Myung-Ji were in attendance. 
At the press conference, guests and Siam Paragon visitors had an opportunity to browse and shop for quality international items at Fashion Hall, Siam Paragon.
 
“The Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar is an annual fundraising event organised by the Thai Red Cross Society in partnership with the spouses of the diplomats in Thailand. Its goal is to foster and strengthen cooperative relationships among the Thai Red Cross Society, diplomatic corps, spouses, consulates, government agencies, the business sector, and organisations within the Thai Red Cross Society,” said Khan Prachuabmoh, Fundraising Director of the Thai Red Cross Society.
 
“The event is also part of an effort to spread the mission of the Thai Red Cross Society, a charitable organisation dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance, medical services, relief, blood services, and improving the quality of life for those who are impoverished, disadvantaged, or affected by disasters.”
 
“In addition to a variety of items to be showcased and sold brought by a joint force of numerous embassies, the Thai Red Cross Society also offers raffle tickets at a price of 50B each. Purchasing these tickets is not only a charitable act but also an opportunity to win many prizes. So, don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity,” said Mr. Khan.
 
At the fair, visitors will also be able to download a special LINE sticker at the LINE sticker gallery, featuring a sticker set titled “Chat & Charity V.2 EP.2 ” created with the generous support of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society. The Thai Red Cross Society was granted royal permission to use her hand painted artwork to create this unique sticker set, which will be available for download for only 35B (50 Coins). All proceeds will go directly to the Thai Red Cross Society’s emergency relief fund towards providing much needed aid to those affected by disasters.  
 
Madame Datin Catherina Christine Cherrian, Chairperson of Diplomatic Participant Committee and Ambassador’s spouse of Malaysia, expressed her enthusiasm for this year’s event: “We are truly excited to do our part to help those in need in Thailand by raising funds to improve the quality of life of the underprivileged.” In 2022, the organising committee has raised over 9,096,993B which has been given to support many projects such as The Excellence Centre for Burns, Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease & Related Disorders at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society’s emergency relief fund, surgery for cleft lip/palate and others, 100 Years 100 Eyes Projects to provide cataract surgery for underprivileged patients by The Thai Red Cross Society 11th Station.” 
 
This year, more than 50 countries are participating with over 176 booths. Embassies from various countries have selected their best importers of local and popular products from each nation, featuring varieties of from food consumer goods, clothing, accessories to homewares and home furnishings.

Kathleen Pokrud
Kathleen Pokrud was born in Hong Kong. After graduating with the Master Degree in the U.K., she worked for Hong Kong Trade Development Council, before moving to Thailand in 1991. She has over 20 years experience in project management. For the past decade, she volunteered in education and women empowerment programs. She is Past President of the International Women’s Club of Thailand and Hong Kong Ladies’ Group. She chartered the new Rotary Club of Wang Mai as Charter President in 2020. Director & ex-Vice Chairperson of Baat Woh Cantonese Opera Association of Thailand and a life member of YWCA Bangkok. In the business community, she serves on the Board of Directors with the Thai-Hong Kong Trade Association. Kathy is on the Thailand Tatler Magazine Expat Society The 200 List. She is the Honorary Columnist and contributing writer to a few leading English magazines. She and her husband, RADM Dr Boonyarit Pokrud have one son who is currently based in Boston, USA.
