Royal Cliff Beach Hotel – feel like a Maharaja or Maharani

I arrived at the hotel late afternoon checked in and was walked to my room by the receptionist.
The room was spotlessly clean, fastidiously equipped with every possible comfort, spacious and welcoming and afforded a beautiful vista over the sea to Koh Lan. I watched the sunset with a drink in hand on the balcony and wondered why I had come on my own…
I dressed for dinner and walked downstairs prepared to explore the 13 in house restaurants but the first restaurant I came to The Maharani was good enough for me. I entered was welcomed by the staff and seated at the table. A white Russian swiftly followed as I perused the menu and chose a lamb biriyani, Saag bhaji, black daal and a peshwari nan, please?

The young lady was thrown by the last request and tried to coerce me into one of the other naan’s on the menu but when I asked her to request from the chef he came out to greet me and was only too happy to meet my request. The meal was super – I just wished I could have taken it home!
Off to bed… a large comfortable King sized one with crisp white linen and fluffy towels after my shower.
Woke up early and listened to the birds waking up with cafe latte from room service sat on the balcony.
Off to breakfast with a buffet fit for a King!
