Raffaele Bertolini will enchant you with the sound of his clarinet: an extremely original and variegated performance, from classic hits to modern and contemporary music, from music for movies and jazz to live electronic and popular music arrangements.

The pianist Alberto Firrincieli will take part to the show. A fascinating journey full of rhythms, colors and sounds.

In the framework of the Italian Festival in Thailand 2018 Special Edition, the Embassy of Italy is pleased to introduce this exceptional concert. This year marks the 150 th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Thailand.

Raffaele Bertolini after his diploma in clarinet at the Conservatorio “Domenico Cimarosa” in Avellino, continued his studies perfecting with Mariozzi, Ferrando, Pay and Canino to subsequently obtain the Bachelor's degree in clarinet at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and in 2015 a first level master in bass clarinet.

He collaborates with numerous prestigious Italian and foreign orchestras also as a soloist. He has performed in several chamber ensembles in Italy, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Romania, Turkey, Russia, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Switzerland, France, Portugal …

He has recorded for Radio and Culture Brazilian Brazilian Rede Globo, for Vatican Radio, for Radio Rai 3 and for Curcio Edizioni Musicali. He recently recorded Beethoven's trios for clarinet, cello and piano for the “Artis” record company. He taught at the Conservatory of Bari; he currently teaches clarinet at the music-oriented school of Milan "Arcadia-Pertini". He held Master Class in Brazil, Turkey and Mexico.

He collaborates with many important Italian and foreign Orchestras, also as a soloist, such as the Mozarteum Symphony Orchestra of Salzburg and the Mexican State Symphony Orchestra. A guest at prestigious venues, he has recently performed at the Berliner Philharmonie Kammermusiksaal and at the Carnegie Hall in New York. "

About the Festival: The Italian Festival in Thailand is organized by the Embassy of Italy and comprises this year 69 cultural events and 5 “weeks” in the biggest Department Stores throughout the year in Bangkok, covering 299 days: classical music, opera, jazz, seminars, cinema, dance, promotion of Made in Italy and a lot more. The Festival is organized with the aim of spreading in Thailand the bestof the Italian culture.

Indeed, we believe that the cooperation among the two countries develops throughthe mutual understanding and appreciation of each other’s heritage and cultural identity. Now at its 13th consecutive edition, the Festival has received positive reviews throughout the years, and an ever growing recognition from the general public. All events are organized thanks to the contribution of many private sponsors and most of them are free entry upon registration.
