Vocal Performance Department (Music Theatre) proudly presents our annual musical theatre production by Music Theatre students.
An unmistakable title from the unforgettable 1980 film and television franchise, Fame The Musical inspired generations to fight for fame and light up the sky like a flame!
Conceived and developed by David De Silva – now known affectionately to the planet as “Father Fame” – this high-octane musical features the Academy Award-winning title song and a host of other catchy pop numbers.
The show follows the final class of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. All of the struggles, fears and triumphs – from prejudice to substance abuse – are depicted with razor-sharp focus as the young artists navigate the worlds of music, drama and dance.It tells the story of several students who attend the High School of Performing Arts, among them fame-obsessed Carmen, ambitious actress Serena, wisecracking comedian/bad boy Joe, quiet violinist Schlomo, “talented but dyslexic” dancer Tyrone, determined actor Nick, overweight dancer Mabel, and serious dancer, Iris, from a poor family.

Please come to join us to see more than 40 performers who will be sing, act and dance with music in various styles. The show will be in English with Thai surtitle. Fame, the Musical will be performed from March 7 to 11, 2019 at Music Auditorium, College of Music, Mahidol University. Performances are:
- Thursday, March 7th 7.00 pm.
- Friday , March 8th 1.00 pm.
- Saturday March 9th 7.00 pm.
- Sunday March 10 1.00 pm. and 7.00 pm.
- Monday March 11 7.00 pm.
