Astor Klezmer Trio concert

A beautiful Astor Klezmer Trio concert was held on 24 March, 2016 (Thursday) at the Music Hall, Art and Culture Building Chulalongkorn University. Musician trio consisted of flute Marc Grauwels, violin and voice Joëlle Strauss and accordion Christoph Delporte. Concert was hosted by H.E. Mr. Marc Michielsen and Mrs. Marie Chantal Michielsen-Biela, Belgium’s ambassador to Thailand. During the even a silent minute for the victims in Belgium was held.

Klezmer is a musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Eastern Europe. Klezmorim originally consisted of dance tunes and instrumental display pieces for weddings and other celebrations. Astor Piazzola was an Argentine tango composer, player and arranger, Astor Pantaleon Piazolla (March 11, 1921-July 4, 1992).
