” Art and Creativity School Fair”

River City Bangkok would like to invite you to the opening of exhibition ” Art and Creativity School Fair ” in collaboration with AOTArt CEO on Saturday 29 September 2018 at 12:00 PM at RCB artery, 1st floor, River City Bangkok.

River City Bangkok, as one of the biggest art hub in Thailand, in collaboration with AOTArt CEO and wife of the Ambassador of Colombia to the Kingdom of Thailand, Mme. Astrid Garcia-Amaya, the Art and Creativity School Fair is Thailand’s first of its kind to exhibit the works of students from both international schools and local schools!

The exhibition will include selected artworks and performances (musical, dance, cheerleading) from each school, as well as a stage for students’ artistic presentations. Alongside this exhibition, there will be the “Thailand Art Talent” contest, to which the jurors are invited from the Silpakorn University, Chulalongkorn University and Bangkok Art Creative Center.

This is not only an opportunity for students to interact and participate in a form cultural exchange through a series of activities, but also as a platform for students to be able to share their passion and creativity with each other, as well as with the public. The fair is hosted by River City Bangkok, Thailand’s largest and only hub of arts and antiques, which continues to support the works of students and passionate artists. Art and Creativity School Fair will take place from Saturday, September 29th to Friday, October 5th. The first day of the exhibition will also be the fair’s opening day, to include a full-day’s program from 10AM to 9PM at RCB Artery.

“I had the pleasant surprise to see how there were international schools that had amazing artworks, creative programs, and art centers. Art and Creativity School Fair is the response to share all this creativity with the community, to empower this talent, to inspire other students, to promote schools for its creative education. A unique opportunity for the schools to shine through your student's Creativity. Be the leaders implementing Creative Education, the biggest and most important educational movement taking place in world-leading capitals” – Mme. Astrid Amaya- Garcia

The drawing represents the beauty of the flowers by moonlight shining. Even the flowers are in the darkness, the beauty can still appear as the charming women.

Apples and Oranges – A Homage to Darwin
Oil paint, 80 x 120 cm
This artwork explores the human tendency to rationalize meaning and measurement in order to occupy the ‘unknowns’ in their environment with identifiable labels. The objects may represent incomprehensible and relative notions like time, death and space. But ultimately they are self-contradictory – like apples and oranges – because they represent the absurdity of the symbolism itself.
