Anantara Hotels Announces Thailand’s Inaugural King’s Cup Elephant Boat Race & River Festival 29 – 31 March 2019

Anantara Hotels, Resort & Spas has announced Thailand’s first charity “King’s Cup Elephant Boat Race & River Festival” in celebration of Thailand’s majestic national animal. The fun filled three-day charitable event will take place on the banks of the mighty Chaopraya River next to Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort from 29 th to 31 st March 2019.

The first King’s Cup Elephant Boat Race & River Festival will feature competitions on the river in the form of elephant boat races, involving 12 teams including international teams from China, and the Philippines going trunk to trunk with Thailand’s own including the Navy Seals paddling unique elephant themed and designed boats on the river.

While the teams battle it out on the river; on-land entertainment includes indoor rowing tournament, which is open to all on Friday 29 th , whileprofessional rowers can battle for the Asian Indoor Rowing Championshipson Saturday 30 th and Sunday 31 st .

Come dressed to impress on Saturday 31 st with the Old Siam themed Ladies Dayand a chance to win luxury stays in the Maldives and more, VIP tents, beer gardens and food festivals. Friday and Saturday evenings also comes alive with concerts featuring popular Thai singers, namely Atom, J Jetrin, Singto Numchoke and New Jiew. Tapping into its conservational expertise, Anantara Hotels, Resorts& Spasis aiming to raise significant charitable donations through ticket sales that will be donated to elephant relatedprojects throughout Thailand,while generating awareness to benefit the future of the Asian elephant.

Operating hours:

  • Every 20 minutes: 7:15 am – 11:00 am. and 9:15 pm – 12 Midnight
  • Every 30 minutes: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
