The American Women’s Club (AWC) hosted our 14th Annual Breakfast at the Oscar fundraising event.
| The American Women’s Club of Thailand (AWC) hosted our 14th Annual Breakfast at the Oscar fundraising event last month. More then 160 ladies plus a few gents added in to mix things up, turned up to help raise vital funds for the Karen Hilltribe Trust and other AWC charities. We donned our best attitude t-shirt, a tiara to add the sparkle of Hollywood and our favorite comfy Thai pants to watch the Academy Award show live from L.A. at the Rembrandt Hotel. Kicking off at 7am, we enjoyed the “red carpet” procession of dresses and interviews, and then the full-unedited show.
As we watched the show, enjoying breakfast, chatting with friends, having a glass or two of bubbles, all while we bought raffle tickets to take our chances on winning a unique themed gift baskets or make our guesses at the winners for the Best Actor/Actress/Movie/Song award categories or biding on one of the silent auction items. Never did we suspect the final surprise of the night. A big thank you to all those who attended and the local businesses that donated items or services for our fundraising efforts, we raised over 260,000B. |
