Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok Celebrates Eight Spectacular Years With Classic “Khon” Performance

Bangkok, 28 September 2018 – Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has celebrated its eighth anniversary with a remarkable “Khon”performance by members of the Fine Arts Department at the Ministry of Culture.

The evening began with a lighting ceremony conducted by the hotel’s famous “Lady in Red.”

The traditional Thai classical masked dance, “Khon” is based upon Ramayana (or Ramakien Epic). The perforamnce, which took place in the lobby on Thursday, 28 September, was accompanied by narrators and a traditional “Pipphat”ensemble playing Thai music on wind and percussion instruments.

Hotel guests and visitors witnessed the performance and toasted the spectacular eighth anniversary after a welcome speech by General Manager Alex Pichel.
