RIS Swiss Section Bangkok

Open Day at RIS Swiss Section International School

On Saturday 25th May RIS Swiss Section International School in Bangkok held an Open Day for prospective parents in Minburi.

Simon Dörig Headmaster greeted his visitors and gave an overview of the school and what it has to offer students in the future. The school has always been highly regarded by the Swiss, German and French communities and it now getting recognition from the Thai and international community.

He told Expat Life that they had planned to acquire land nearby so that they can move the football field and then build better facilities and to accommodate more students on site in the very near future. Being part of RIS they can offer the advantages of being connected to a large school but Swiss Section also has the distinct advantage of being a smaller friendly institution with 300 plus students. We were then given a tour of the facilities by a team of students, who all seemed very positive about the school, and what advantages it had delivered them.

H.E. Ivo Sieber the Swiss Ambassador to Thailand, now on his second tour of duty in the Land of Smiles, is leaving Bangkok for Vietnam at the end of the summer and a new lady Ambassador has been announced to succeed him. We wish Ivo and Gracita every success in their move and new role and wait to meet the new Ambassador.
