Congratulations! Record-Breaking Success for Harrow Bangkok Students
Students at Harrow International School Bangkok have had another successful year with IGCSE grades this year being particularly remarkable. The 131 strong year group received the best IGCSE results in the school’s 22 year history: 2 out of 3 grades were A*-A (Grade 7-9), 97% A*-C (Grade 4-9). These spectacular results exceeded expectations and highlight the school’s mission to stretch and support all learners.
Head Master Jon Standen said, ‘We are immensely proud of the achievement of the students. These truly exceptional grades are a testament to the education offered at Harrow Bangkok.’
Ryu, now in the school’s Sixth Form, is especially inspiring after clearing 12 A* & 1 A at IGCSE. When asked what the secret of his success was he said, ‘It may sound clichéd, but there are no secrets to my success. I really wanted to do well, so I paid attention in classes, asked questions, and strived to meet homework deadlines. For last year’s Upper Sixth Form, 60% of A Level grades were A*-A, twelve students achieved A* in 3 or more subjects and a third of students achieved straight A*-A grades. 1/4 of the 359 grades that the Class of 2019 achieved were A*’s. These impressive results have led to 59% of UK applicants being awarded places at UK top 10 universities including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE and Imperial. For students heading to the US, 67% secured places at Top 50 ranked US universities.
