Growing up in northern Canada, I was curious about the world and enjoyed a love of words, but I did not anticipate that I would become a global nomad and an author. After completing my PhD in Anthropology at the University of Cambridge, a post-doctoral Smuts-Hinduja fund fellowship at Cambridge and a Radcliffe Fellowship at Harvard, I taught at Harvard and Yale and worked in public health with Battelle. Have enjoyed global adventures across continents, while calling Tokyo, Sydney, London, New York, Singapore and Dubai home, I have always focused on gaining a deep understanding of local traditions. Currently, I am writing on global foodscapes and mindfulness in schools, and I’m developing a children’s non-fiction book based on my work with Partition refugees, it’s about the real journeys of children who crossed the border created in 1947 between India and Pakistan.
